Think Your Way To Success

your mind has to arrive at adestination beforeyour life doeschange your mind...change your life...

Consider your thoughts and dreams a preview of your life’s coming attractions.

At the risk of sounding a bit ‘New agey’, this concept isn’t very different from the law of attraction. At the risk of sounding like a hard, cold scientist, there is logic to the theory and it has been proven repeatedly.

Whether or not you have difficulties believing the theory , this line of thought bears a lot of weight. Skeptics can no longer deny the power of the human mind. Scientists in a never ending need to prove everything, have begun to explore metaphysics as a discipline in an effort to explain previously mysterious phenomena.

The take away message remains the same:

The human brain is much more powerful than we have previously believed.

Simply put, your thoughts play a huge role when it comes to your success.

The earliest clues came from studying conditions such as phobias or compulsions in an adult life that could be traced back to adverse childhood experiences. For example, a near drowning experience as a child will lead to an adult terrified of learning how to swim. This person develops a strong fear of going near large bodies of water without knowing why. They may not even remember the childhood episode. The subconscious in an effort to protect the child, laid down a program declaring that “going near water is unsafe” followed automatically by the conscious. The person carries this belief into adulthood.

What false beliefs have you been carrying around?

To achieve success, you must remove these false protectors that your brain has established in an effort to keep you safe. You are now an adult. You are  mature enough to take precautions and calculate the risks involved in your actions. You are no longer helpless and incapable of protecting yourself. Unfortunately, your brain may still be operating on that old software.

If thoughts and beliefs that oppose success are buried in your subconscious then you are the only one standing in your own way.

If you grew up hearing statements such as “money doesn’t grow on trees”, “only bad people like druggists or thieves attain wealth”, “money has to do with luck in life”, or even “learn to live within your means”, your mental programming has been blocking you from success.

In Creating a Wealthy Mindset, I outline all the success-stopping false beliefs along with methodological ways to eliminate these obstacles.

Entrepreneurship – Solving A Problem

One of the most common complaints I get from clients is: “Starting a business is so complicated!”

If you have ever attempted to start a business, you would have found out that the red tape alone can choke you. The fees, the paperwork, the taxes, the business plans to beg for a loan… It is all just too much.

How about we simplify things by focusing on the essentials.

Simply put, entrepreneurship is just a long complicated word for ‘solving a problem’.

Every business you can think of whether they sell products or services, all have one thing in common. They offer something that will either simplify, enhance or improve the quality of lives in some way.

Grocery stores simplify our lives by making a wide variety of goods available in one location (platform). For this service, we pay them 15 – 30% extra on the cost of goods we purchase. But I can imagine we much prefer this arrangement to running all over town to the bakery, butcher, farmer etc in order to have our food needs met.

This mark up or profit of 15- 30% can be broken down into labour, packaging, energy cost (to keep meat frozen), rent etc. Every aspect of business can be simplified like this. If sales aren’t great this month, we find a way to increase awareness of our services (marketing) in order to attract more customers.

If if you ever get the feeling that you need a four year degree and years of accounting training to startup, just remember that all you will be doing is solving a problem, for a group of people (market, niche) who have a need.

You can do this.

No matter who or where you are there is something you can do to enhance someone else’s life; to improve their quality of living. You just need to get a little creative. Entrepreneurship banks on the fact that people like to have processes in their lives simplified.

Find a group of people with a problem you can solve. The beauty of E-Commerce is, you have access to a global community. This increases your likelihood of finding people with a problem you can solve. In addition, setting up a platform (website such as Shopify) and marketing (social media such as Facebook) is relatively easy and cheap compared to renting a brick and mortar store and purchasing equipment.

Clearly, your exit strategy (dropping everything and running for the hills if you fail) would be much smoother in E-Commerce as well.

So, think about a problem you can solve. Think about how you can reach the people who have the problem and how much you will charge for your services.

As the world evolves, new problems arise.

It has been said that during the gold rush, it wasn’t the persons doing the digging who made the most money, but rather the ones who sold the digging tools.

If you start a business, keep in mind that your main purpose isn’t profit but to solve a problem. Profit will always follow the solution. Read more on starting a successful business by solving  a problem in Chapter 18, Creating a Wealthy Mindset.

Happy problem solving (business building)!

Put Your Challenges In Perspective

vibrate higher1

“If you ever start taking things too seriously, just remember that we are talking monkeys on an organic spaceship flying through the universe.”

Joe Rogan

This quote may be a bit oversimplified, but still relevant in face of all the irrelevant nuances that we allow to disturb our peace of mind, daily. I run to this quote whenever I feel overwhelmed by challenges, obstacles or just the mere requirements of existing.

It helps to put things in perspective.

It helps me to vibrate beyond my problems; to remember that they are relative. In the view of world crises and more pressing global issues, not being able to format my document correctly really isn’t that much of a deal. (And may not warrant me throwing the laptop across the room)

As you eventually calm down you will reassess your priorities. This allows your brain stressors to back up a bit which in turn helps you to come up with an actual solution.

While going through a crisis, nothing shifts priorities like the emergence or acknowledgement of a bigger, scarier problem. Suddenly, the challenge you were facing seems manageable in comparison to this more pressing issue.

As you shift your mental energy to deal with the bigger problem, the earlier issue seems so much smaller and maybe even insignificant by comparison.

This is called a vibrational shift. In order to handle the more pressing challenge, you can raise your mental vibration to meet it. Vibrate at the level of your problems and they will crush you. Vibrate higher and you are immediately mentally equipped to face them!

This is also a comforting thought when going through a rough period in any aspect of life. Your consciousness is actually expanding to take on tougher challenges. It is almost like a mental promotion. Congrats!

Just a bit of a lifehack for ya!

The next time you find yourself faced with a dilemma, try imagining being responsible for resolving world problems such as poverty, climate change or global warming. Your problems suddenly don’t seem so tragic, now do they?

You can learn more tricks and tips to change your mental vibration in order to attain what you really want from life in Creating a Wealthy Mindset. Grab a copy on Amazon and begin shaping the mindset for success in every are of your life.

Losing The Fear Of Change

I didnt forgetwhere i camefrom. i justcan't stay there

The tiles were yellow and faded.

Aged and handled magazines covered the coffee table. As I sat in the doctor’s office of my hometown, I saw several familiar faces. People I had known forever but never quite got around to meeting.

It was my first week on the road as a Pharmaceutical Rep. As I patiently waited for the receptionist to signal for me to steal a few minutes with the doctor, I overheard a conversation between two patients.

“I didn’t know you still lived in this town”. A young man in construction boots and soiled clothes responded, “I was born here. Where else would I be? I’m not going anywhere.”

A very simple realization that many people never get, is that fact that…

You are not a tree!

You are not planted where you were born or to any destination or situation that you happen to land in. You always have a choice to move. As humans, growth and change are not only natural, they are inevitable.

If you choose to stay where you are because you are very happy there, then that’s great! But that is very different from the notion of staying in one place simply because you were born (not planted) there.

You have to no obligation to stay where you are. Travel and explore. Have adventures and discover other places and things that resonate with your desires; your authenticity.

You owe it to yourself to find out what you like and dislike outside the influences of your hometown folk.

Similarly, never stay in a career or a job simply beacause you made that choice when you were younger. Never be afraid to move and try other things. Never be afraid to admit, “This isn’t for me. Let me try something else”. Discover your passion, try a new hobby, start a side business.

See what else is out there.

I dare you to move.

Creating a Wealthy Mindset

3d cover EBook

In ‘Creating a Wealthy Mindset’, I share the practical, psychological pathways to overcome the poverty and scarcity mindset, which is literally the only block to achieving great wealth.

Everything you could ever hope to achieve is possible. The only thing standing between you and greatness is the simple belief that you can’t. This belief is perpetuated and encouraged along by the cues in your social environment.

See, the corporations know this and for decades they have trained us to be happy for the job they have so generously given us and the pittance packages that they hand out – as long as we keep them happily in profit, of course.

They pay us in exchange for …well, our lives actually; time with family, relaxation, mental health, sense of fulfillment and purpose. This is what you hand over for your monthly paycheck.

This is the least effective model to achieve wealth.

In order to accomplish this, we had to be kept in certain mindset; a mindset of scarcity, lack, poverty and constant fear. This mindset is reinforced by cues in the environment, from TV shows to the physical work environment. They keep us competing with each other fighting and scratching to survive.

You compete with several other applicants for the ‘great job’. You compete with the coworkers for a raise or a promotion or even a bonus. This way of thinking that a nine to five is actually security is widely believed and encouraged. We grew up and saw our parents struggling to keep us alive and we continue that tradition.

How about we break the cycle for our kids?

The person behind the book…

Who am I?

What qualifies me to be asserting these wild claims?

Like you, I grew up in a traditional environment that values things like getting a degree, getting a great paying job then settling down to the white picket fence dream; marriage and kids.

Rinse and repeat.

So, I did that. I graduated at 20 years old with a first degree in Medical Technology. After internship, I worked at the hospital for a year, then in forensics for another year.

Despite the excitement of it all, my salary barely covered my rent, utilities and food. Do not get me started on club cover charges and pricey cocktails.

I followed the money trail back home and worked in the family retail biz for several years.

By 2015, I found myself bored, uninspired and depressed by the thought that this was how life was ‘supposed’ to be.

I was in debt (credit cards, soured investment and hire purchases from Courts – those bailiffs do not play let me tell you)

I had a six year old to support, a divorce to nurse and a half finished Masters in Public Health.

I lost all motivation to complete my graduate studies, when I heard the other classmates (medical doctors, consultants and surgeons) complaining about inadequate salaries and less than ideal working conditions.

I thought to myself:

“There must be another way”

I found that way… In challenging myself to reexamine every single thing I have always believed about success. I combined this with the principles of Psychology and Human Behavior Change that I had studied and researched. I slowly and strategically challenged and removed every mental barrier I dug up. Through months of research, self reflection and observation of the cultural cues in my environment.

I started really seeing and really hearing that almost everything my friends and family said about wealth and success were extremely self – defeating and limiting. I wondered what would happen if we had a money mindset. If we believed we had no barriers to making creating wealth.

The Principle

This is not a con, a trick or a pyramid scheme of any sort. You will never at any point in this program be asked to sign up ‘x’ amount of people to do “Enter ridiculous claim here”.

Work will be required.

But not the kind of work you think. In fact, one of the tips of the wealthy that you will learn in this book is that, you will never attain wealth by constantly working for money!

Yes, I said it. Quote me!

You will never attain wealth by working for money. That would be like chasing a train on foot, in heels, in the hot dessert, while standing in quick sand. In a job, you exchange time for money. Your money is limited by your time, which for health reasons and common sense is limited per day.

The key is to find a way to let money work for you. Think about it. Better yet, lets reflect a bit on slavery (yes, this is a shameless emotional tactic to get your attention).

Chapter 17 has a wealth model that you can implement immediately.

During that period, slaves did all of the menial, manual work, didn’t they? In the fields all day, in the burning sun, walking for miles to get to work and back, yet got the least amount of pay.

Sounds eerily familiar?

Now, I know what you will say here. Well, Stephanie, that was during slavery, it was immoral and unfair and an unjust system kept going by a privileged few.

But look around my dear friend. Take a good look around. How different is it really today?

Most persons will say that earning opportunities are fairly equal now. A person can choose his/her destiny and determine his/her path. Then why aren’t more of us doing it?

What is the missing factor?

There are no more plantation barriers, no more shackles; at least not physical ones.

Why, then are we still imprisoned in defeat?

But Stephanie, you might insist, if everyone owns their own business or does their own thing, who would be the employees?

Great point, my reader whose mind I just read.

If there was a  greater demand for employees due to supply, then employees would have more negotiating power and able to earn better wages (even claim shares) as opposed to putting up with crumbs because ‘jobs are so scarce and precious’.

In other words, the system works against us and for them!

You can change that. You can shift the power.

From Pain To Purpose

He who has the power of turning all negative vibes in his path into positive energy has learned the meaning of life

When I went broke, I experienced severe emotional pain. In my mind, there was nothing more painful than not having a steady stream of income. It stole my independence and my freedom – two of the things I valued dearly.

I got angry

Felt helpless

I felt like a slave to whomever I allowed to offer assistance. It was not a good feeling. I felt lesser than, beneath those who were still taking care of ‘biz’ and handling their lives with their steady incomes.

I also promised myself that I would help anyone who ever found themselves in these circumstances, which formed the foundation of ‘Creating a Wealthy Mindset’.

It soon dawned on me that my identity (idea of who I was) was so closely tied to being financially independent that not being in that place (no matter how temporary) was messing with my self esteem and causing great pain.

What did I have to offer now?

Who was I?

I felt diminished.

The issue wasn’t a lack of money. I certainly wasn’t starving. I ate each day satisfactorily and slept each night in safety. But the very thing I had identified my values with, was stripped from me.

People will fight and claw and do anything to protect that which identifies them.

Whatever you get your value from, is what you will fight tooth and nail for.

Getting and having money is great but what are your values and how are they tied in to how you make money, how you invest that money and your general contribution to the betterment of the world.

In other words, why the hell should you be wealthy?

If you are comfortable where you are right now, smooching off some relative, barely making it by each month what motivation is there to change, to move from where you are?

You need to tap into your pain source

What is the most painful thing about where you are?

Do they feed you but complain about it or give you attitude as they throw food in your mouth?

Do you long for freedom from other people’s idea of living.

So, what identifies you? What are your values? How do you define yourself?

This is your pain.

Use it. Wield it.

Put all that frustrating energy into creating your own life. Design it just the way you want. Let your pain help you to remain uncomfortable until you are where you want to be.

Transform that energy

That pain you feel now is your potential energy. Like a stone being pulled back in a slingshot. That stone holds within it massive energy to buss someone’s head if released (lol), but it won’t do any damage until it’s released. The pulling back of the stone increases its potential energy (the farther back it’s pulled, the greater force it will have when released).

The greater your potential energy (your pain), the greater the force when you become released. So, increase that pain when you can. Use it as your motivation to keep planning, keep going.

This is not the end of your story, merely a dark chapter. That middle chapter of your amazing biography. No great book goes without having a dark scary chapter for the hero/ heroine to overcome.

Dare you to move…

Stephanie ♥
